Director Tigmanshu Dhulia, after his critically acclaimed film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, has decided to pass on the director's mantle to his assistant Karan Butani and slip into the producer's shoes instead.

Director Tigmanshu Dhulia, after his critically acclaimed film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, has decided to pass on the director's mantle to his assistant Karan Butani and slip into the producer's shoes instead.
Dhulia's maiden production to be directed by Butani will be a black comedy titled Valmiki Ki Bandook.
Based on the 'gun culture' in certain parts of Uttar Pradesh, the film will be set in the heartland of India.

Revealing more about the project, Dhulia told Mirror, “I heard Karan's script while he was working with me on Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. I really like it and agreed to be the creative producer of the film.”
Mumbai Mirror has learnt that Butani is now approaching A list actors to finalise the cast for the film that is slated to go on floors in early 2012.
